The iseries festival kicked off today with a memorable opening ceremony for i46, paving the way for a fantastic weekend and also the biggest BYOC since i34!
Hosted today by A_Spec, Wizzo and ReDeYe, we saw 14 exhibitors take to the stage, while the crowd went crazy for tons of t-shirts lanyards and hundreds of bags of Haribo.
Among the exhibitors today we had Scan, PC World, Currys, 2K Games, Overclockers, iiYama, Madcatz, Quiet PC, InWin, Midland PCs, CM Storm, Antec, ESET, TTeSports, and Asus. The exhibitors brought loads of boxes filled with goodies up for grabs, with a few lucky people receiving some awesome hardware. The crowd had to work for their prizes though; by playing ‘blind’ Streetfighter 4, dancing on stage and making a whole lot of noise. The prizes didn’t stop there though. There are loads of competitions running this weekend, with the chance for everyone to win some awesome prizes.
The opening ceremony also included our very own version of ‘Deal or no Deal’ with volunteers from the audience. Prizes included a pint, Portal socks, 10 raffle tickets, an ice cream with a flake, 1 raffle ticket, Man Vs Machine Server, Ice cream cone, and 3 months CS:GO Server. The final two boxes had a Jinx T-shirt and an ice cream with no flake. Unfortunately our contestant walked away with the Flake-less ice cream!
However there are still many other prizes/freebies to get your hands on around the exhibitor hall. Scan are giving away free pizzas tonight at 6pm, tomorrow lunch at 1pm and tomorrow evening. Just head over to the Scan stand and ask for anything with their logo on and then decorate yourself with it! iiYama are offering free Starcraft 2 training and PC World are holding a ‘fastest lap’ competition.
Samsung are also giving people the chance to win an SSD. The winner will be the person who can shake the Shake Weight as many times as possible! It’s worth heading over to the Samsung stand just to have a good laugh at the people taking part.
TteSports have got loads going on with over £1000 worth of prizes to be won. They include challenger keyboards, Meka series keyboards, Shock series headsets, black gaming series mice, Thermaltake Frio extreme cooler, Thermaltake smartpower 5550w PSU and loads more. You can also take part in the social network raffle by liking TteSports and ThermaltakeUK
Finally, don’t forget that Antec are holding some great tournaments this weekend. Antec are holding the Starcraft 2 tournament today with Shootmania on Saturday and Midwars on Sunday. Madcatz are also having their own ‘Madcatz Championships’ with 12 games to take part in, such as Streetfighter 4, Marvel vs Capcom 3, King of Fighters 13, Dead or Alive 5, Blazblue, Street Fighter Cross Tekken, Virtua Fighter 5 and many more!
