If you need a break from the gaming action during the weekend, you’re more than welcome to amble over to our Charity of the Year SpecialEffects stand for a chat with them in the exhibition hall. For many people who are disabled, the majority of computer games are simply too quick or too difficult to play. What they do is offer the advice and loan equipment that will enable them to enjoy the benefits of games to the very best of their abilities.
They’ll have a range of game setups to try out over the weekend including mouth control, voice control and their Eye-control Dirt3 Challenge – for a quid you can pit your eyes against the road for the fastest lap and a chance to win a 2k games pack!
The wonderful folks from Trion, Game and Namco Bandai have cordially invited you to their Lock-In-Tour. You can sign up for this awesome event at the location of your choice here. You will get an amazing early glimpse into what to expect for release, as well as food and refreshments to keep fueled through the action. All the lock-in players will receive a beta access key to continue their adventure as ‘Ark Hunters’ during the Defiance online beta from March 21st. Gamers can also pre-order Defiance in-store or online right now.

Ever since we announced SpecialEffect as our official Charity of 2013, we have been trying to work out different ways to use Insomnia to raise money for such a worthy cause. After much scratching of heads and chewing of pens, it seems only fitting that we look to the bravest, craziest and most innovative community we know (that’s you, the community) to help us raise some funds:
This iseries, after Classy Saturday the Lovely Mr_Slappy and Siteslammer will be running a Community Charity Poker Tournament in the tabletop gaming area. Half of the proceeds from this will go to SpecialEffect with the other half going into a prize pot. For more information on their dealings please check out their thread on the community forum. This also means, that those people in Tux’es/Dresses for Classy Saturday will truly be able to live our their ‘James Bondish’ dreams and be able to play Poker dressed to the nines.
If you’d just like to help us donate to SpecialEffect, and would like to set up your own ‘Just Giving’ page, please check out the official Multiplay page.
You got to know when to hold ‘em…
