Insomnia Gaming Festival offers a fantastic day out for families who want to introduce their children to the world of gaming in a safe and friendly environment.
Our Play Area is the ultimate place to visit as a family. It’s never just one game!! With hundreds available to play, this is your chance to have a go at a multitude of games as well as discover new releases coming on the market.
Family favourites including Minecraft, Fortnite, Mario Kart, Fifa23 and many more will be available amongst hundreds more. Plus you can get your hands on the latest and greatest games from the biggest publishers and developers in the gaming world as well as discover the hidden gems from small studios and independent developers.

After all the excitement of playing those games, you might want to sit down and chill out, and at Tabletop you can do exactly that! Play some board or card games with your family! Whether you’re a Yu-Gi-Oh master duelist or a Magic: The Gathering noob, looking to hoodwink your friends in One Night Ultimate Werewolf or just relax with some Catan, Tabletop has all the space and games to get a great session going.
As a parent who has enjoyed gaming from a young age, you might have fond memories of Billy Mitchell’s Donkey Kong high score? Did your thumbs fall off as a child playing Contra? Was NBA your Jam? If you do so, make sure you check out Retro at Insomnia! This is the place to relive your childhood memories and introduce your child to old favourites.
Plus NEW for this year, we are introducing a dedicated family lounge where you will be able to chill and step away from the crowd before setting off for your next round of games.
Every paying adult can bring a child under 6 free of charge. We also offer family passes (4 people max), giving you a £6 saving per ticket.*

Where are the baby changing facilities?

Do you have a family room?
Our brand-new Family Gaming Area on the show floor is the perfect place to chill out and for younger children to relax and take in the atmosphere
How can I help keep my child safe?
We will be handing out wristbands at the entrance. Make sure you grab one on arrival and put your telephone number on it.
How do I know that the games are appropriate for my child?
We ensure PEGI ratings on computer games/screens are appropriately policed; and anything PEGI16 is not easy to view, and anything PEGI18 behind age-verified walls/covers. We encourage parents visiting with children under 16 to stay with them at all times.
